Non, Je ne regrette rien!

Bonjour mes amis! Aujourd'hui je vais parler d'une filme superbe, en France, La Mome, mais, surtout le monde, La Vie en Rose. C'est l'histoire de la vie d' Edith Piaf nee Gassion. Alright for those of you who dont understand French, I was talking about a wonderful film La Vie En Rose, which tells the about the wonderful and crazy life of French songstress, Edith Piaf. This film is a must see for serious cinemaphiles and fans of Edith. Whenever there are biographical films there is often the chance that the actor performs a pure imitation, however Marion Cotillard becomes wholly and truly Edith. The makeup is fantastically done, her appearance is completely believable. The film is artistically put together, so that not only are you drawn into her life, but you are kept on your toes while watching, you never know what you will see next.

MELIKESALOT!

Today I finally saw Spamalot! Ok, so it wasn't the original cast, but for any of you who enjoyed Monty Python's and the Holy Grail, it is DEFINITLEY a must see. They didn't ruin any of the jokes or the originality that the film had, but rather elaborated. If any of you are worried about not seeing any of your favorite characters from the film, its not an issue- Tim, The French, The Holy Hand Grenade and the singing boy in the tower are all here. I just loved it and bought a souvenir brochure and of course, a pair of coconuts. Anyhow, I think for today that will be it. Enjoy!

Back again with a Jewel Thief!

Ok so I didn't mean to post twice, I don't want to be one of those annoying bloggers, but since I am at home alone AGAIN, I have decided to blog about one of the all time BEST Bollywood films, Jewel Thief. This stars the very handsome and soft-spoken actor Dev Anand, Ashok Kumar(Kishore Kumar's older brother), and Tanuja(Kajol's mother). The two amazing performances given by Helen, the "Queen of the Naach Girls" and Vyjantimala, one of the best dancers and actresses who even Hema Malini emulated, are wonderful to watch. The story line and dialogue add to the suspense of the film as you try to figure out "whodunit". This film has it all, suspense, romance, violence and of course, dancing and singing. But nowadays, while many other bollywood film story lines and characters are constant repeats, Jewel Thief is something definitely out of the ordinary. Just to give you a foretaste, here is Helen performing the song Baithe Hain Kya, sung by Asha Bhosle.

And Hothon Main Aisi Baat performed by the beautiful Vyjantimala.

I hope you enjoyed and decide to view this bollywood masterpiece.

There's No Business Like Show Business!

Hey peoples! I'm back again! And here is my list for some must see shows:
1. Little Mosque on the Prairie- A very funny quirky Canadian TV show about a little mosque and it's Muslim population in the tiny town of Mercy, Saskatchewan. Unforgettable characters and humorous situations. Definitely a must see!
2. Aliens in America- Where else in mainstream American TV are names such as "kuta" and "dirty cow eater" thrown out? No where else but here! Racial tension and misconceptions abound, as two teenage boys, Raja and Justin, try to put aside their differences and make their junior year unforgettable.
3. Coupling- Though this UK "sexcom" has been off the air for some years now, its entertaining and enlightening story lines about topics as lesbians, masturbation, size and of course Jeff's favorite word "breasts", will make you laugh till you cry.
4. Blackadder- If you haven't seen this series then you are seriously missing out. Great for history buffs or Rowan Atkinson fiends. In addition to his wonderful performances, many other great British actors lend their talents to the screen including, Steve Fry, Hugh Laurie, Tony Robinson and Miranda Richardson.
5. Goodness Gracious Me- Though I have to admit I have never seen the entire 3 seasons, I must recommend this amazing and groundbreaking British television show, which put Brit Asians on the map and created unforgettable characters: Smitta Smitten-Showbiz Kitten, Mr. Everything is Indian, and of course the continuously fighting aunties( But how big is his dunda?!).
Alright well that's my post for today! Enjoy!
